Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus (SDCA) at Aarhus University Hospital (AUH) is recruiting a clinical researcher for a time limited position for 1 year. Starting date is April 1st, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.
Job Description
SDCA brings together all aspects of diabetes treatment, clinical diabetes research and innovation under the same roof, thereby offering more integrated treatment in an environment with world-class scientists and physicians.
We are seeking a highly motivated medical doctor to join our Steno Trial Unit and help conduct cutting edge clinical trials within diabetes and cardiometabolic diseases. You will perform hands-on clinical research under defined protocols with an experienced multi-disciplinary team.
Among the tasks are
- Recruitment of subjects to research and participate in the logistics of conducting research trials.
- Coordinating and executing clinical examinations including obtaining muscle- and fat biopsies.
- Registration of trial data.
- Coordinating with internal and external partners.
You will be integrated into an active research environment with weekly research seminars and will interact with trained scientists. This provides an excellent opportunity to get insights into future career options in clinical science.
Selection criteria
- Qualifications at MD-level authorized to work independently.
- Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- An analytical attitude of devising innovative solutions.
- An enthusiastic, dedicated and collaborative attitude.
- Motivated to perform hands-on clinical examinations and minor invasive procedures under protocol guidance.
- Understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles and adherence to clinical trial protocols
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team
Relationships
- The successful candidate will be employed at SDCA.
- The holder of the position will primarily report to the head nurse at SDCA research.
- The holder of the position is expected to interact with staff at all levels, both internally and externally, regarding relevant research topics.

Employment Conditions
The candidate will be employed in Central Denmark Region and place of employment will for the present be at AUH. Salary is in accordance with current agreement.
